    Xerox 4112 Fault Code 062-371

I have a Xerox 4112 and when I turn it on it the light flashes and the fault code comes up 062-371. I did some research and figured it was an exposure lamp failure, but which one. I believe there are 2 or 3 lamps. Is it easy to replace or do I need a tech. Please help.

If you do not know what is exposure lamp, then I think is better to call a tech.

Not so sure is the exposure lamp.
You need service manual to do some checkings procedures.
Can be electronic board that drive that lamp.

Well some people are correct on this one. If you are tech then the procedure should be ok to replace the CCD Kit or ballast. If not I would strongly suggest that you engage a Xerox tech to help. Call around and you will find a tech willing to make some cash on the side, dont piss him/her off as you will need them to calibrate the CCD once installed. Check the connection from the CCD PWB to the IIT/IPS PWB. Disconnect and reconnect. Go into diagnostics and run 062-002 Exposure lamp. If it lights up pretty and bright, then most likely it is good to go. if not check for obstructions in the light path (paper, dust) I am hoping that it is simple as to the plugs were jostled loose during shipment. If not then you have 2 options which include replacing the Exposure Lamp (Xerox 122E92130) or the Full Rate Carriage.
just be careful when messing with this as you can cause some other issues if you do not put the cables back in correct place or crimp the ribbon cable.

If you can, I would suggest that you have a Xerox (Not some fly by night company that will say they do Xerox. 99.9% of the companies who work on this model will specialize in Xerox only not multiple lines) tech come out and pick his/her brain and become familiar with machine. It will be the best few hundred dollars you can spend now and could save you thousands down the road.

            Hope this helps
