I replaced the gears at the back of the dev unit and color came back but toner appears to be plugged between the bottle and the hopper. I've cleared the hopper and toner is leaving the bottle but jamming up before the hopper causing the code. I've tried manually un clogging, it to no avail. Any quick way to resolve this? Or do I need to rip the front off? Thanks!

It would be a great benefit to know what type of printer we're talking about. If it a docucolor style or line... Open the drum drawer and slide the plactic cover back to look inside the toner chute. It should not be full, but if it is, the Low Toner Sensor is likely bad. It looks like a small watch battery when you remove it.

My bad.. Yes, It's a DC252. chute was clear. That was full, originally, when the development gears were stripped and the augers weren't turning. I replaced those gears and cleared the chute but it must have backed up into the toner dispense area, just above. Nothing was dropping to the chute after that. After a lot of prep work covering everything, I took a air hose to it and finally got it cleared out and is now fine, aside from blue smurf boogers....Fingers crossed.
Thank you for your response!Comment

I would look to replace that developer housing soon, the gears got stripped for a reason. If your in the US, I have used ones that are in great condition for a fraction of the cost for a new one.Comment

I'll keep you in mind in the future. I am in the US, Louisville, KY. I have bookmarked you. I currently have 3 on order from my vendor.
I have found the gears can be replaced no more than twice (Ideally once) before changing the unit. The actual spindle gets a rut worn in it and the gear starts to wobble and round out the inside of the gear prematurely. Customer has been killing his machines lately.Comment
