Good night guys, seems like whatever could go wrong will, Xerox 700 a few problems recently one after the other, about a week ago, been getting this a bit 042-326, turned machine off then on worked a few times, then it wouldn't so I would have to open up machine, take out IBT belt clean it, then turn machine back on. doing this I notice that I was getting toner backup into the machine, then started the grinding noise of gears. realized that my upper chute assembly was not working properly, toner everywhere. Found the gear that was at fault, replaced it with a good gear, noise is gone, whiles I was at it I changed Joint Assembly, and Leveler Box Assembly seeing that they were all connected. I realized that because the toner wasn't moving into waste basket, it caused 3 of my color drums to be faulty as the toner was blocked up in the toner dispense of each drum. well beyond that, now the big problems start, got an error 045-360 which is something about contif effor y fail, which came, and went away, but right after that all of my prints seem to be missing the magenta in pictures, solid magenta seemed to print fine. did a calibration, same thing. retraced my steps to see if I might have missed out something or pinched a wire or something, everything seems fine, turned machine back on, went back to the 042-326, restarted machine now I am getting 045-315 which is something about ROS. There is still a bunch of toner in machine as I am waiting for a toner vaccum. Any suggestions? just when it rains it pours

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
When you say 're-started the machine' did you actually re-start everything or just the IOT? Unplug every accessory that is attached including the RIP do not just rely on the IOT power switch. The machine can become confused and put up ghost errors because of incorrect POPO. Just try it before messing with ROS units.
42-326 is probably because there is waste toner covering the sensor or sensor strip on the beltComment

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Had this problem where the colour stopped printing and when the tech would do test prints it would print fine ... print a job and the magenta (or yellow) would be missing. Has happened with a few machines and it was a little colour board under each drum that is located on the back of the machine when you pull out the IBT belt / drum draw.
I don't know the name of the little board, but it has mostly a brass chip either side of it and in fine print.

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Hi
It appears i have the same waste toner issue as you initially described.
Have a machine that had waste toner drive error, turned out to be a broken waste toner assembly on the belt, replaced that and appeared to be working fine but now issues with toner gathering inside the machine, around the drum toner dispense area.
Making a light clicking noise when running, hoping to replace out the parts you described in your first post.
Could you help point me in the direction of which parts you replaced?
You mention the upper chute assembly, leveler assembly and joint assembly?
WOuld they be these parts below?

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Good day, i know the headache you feel, change direct pipe assembly 052K13213 it's usually one gear in the back that mess up. but unless you know what to look for kinda hard. they do sell the gear kit for that but again that's if you know what you're doing. So might be easier to change that whole assembly, i find that once you hear the clicking, the waste from drums are trying to get into the auger, but because the gears aren't turning will keep piling up and spill into machine. they reccomend that when you change direct pipe you change leveler box and joint, but vary rarely i have found that these go bad, usually just direct pipe.

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Hi
I am having some more trouble with this same device after replacing the parts described above.
I replaced the entire assembly as reccommended and the device was working fine, print quality excellent, no waste toner spillage or clicking noise.
A couple of days ago users reported problem returned and when i went to investigate the belt from the lever box assembly had come loose and toner was backing up.
I reset the belt around the funnel assembly gear and restarted but the clicking noise remains. When i manually turn the drive motor with the power off i can see the gears clicking on the direct pipe.
Would it be likely that the gear has snapped again on the direct pipe assembly so soon?
It was mentioned that you can replace the gears themselves rather than the whole unit?
When i replaced the direct pipe i didnt change the lever box or funnel, would either of these be casuing the drive belt on the lever box to slip off and cause a gear to snap?

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Ok, i find that weird that the problem would re-occur that fast after changing the direct pipe, in my experience that doesnt' happen, it is recomended that when the direct pipe is changed to change the joint funnel assembly, and the leveler box and the leveler box the same time. i have had experience where to leveler box gears would go bad, and there is one small plastic in there that is very flimsy and sometimes break. also i have found with the joint assembly there are two springs one short and one long, and sometimes something goes crazy with them and they kinda jam. I have had to change direct pipe many times in my machines, what i have found also is the chute of the direct pipe that goes into the circle chutes, toner gets built up on the machine side to the back, what I usually do, before i put direct pipe in i would use a long screwdriver or something to knock the back of each chute on the machine side and you would see toner usually drop down from there. what sometimes happen is the toner kinda crystalizes. all of those things kinda look for. but i would take each of the three items i described earlier out and kinda clean them move the gears and check if there is any resistance anywhere on the gears, I would take the direct pipe completely apart with the one screw in back of each of the augers make sure no crystalized toner is trapped in there and stopping movement....
really hope i made some sense of the process and that it helps you

Re: Xerox 700 Help please
Yea i'm hoping its just something similar to what you've described, the machine doesnt get massive volumes, just weird that it happened again after the belt slipped.
I'll try what you've described i think before i order any more parts in,
Thanks for your help!
