Xerox ColorQube 9303 Not Booting Up

    Hi,

I have a Xerox 9303 that won't boot up. After an 1 hour it still states "Please Wait ... The System Is Restarting". I have done a Altboot Software Upgrade which updates the Copy controller and Network controller and they updated just fine. But when it reboots after the update it never fully reboots it stays at the "The System Is Restarting " prompt. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    - Thanks

Pull the access panel for the IME status lights and reply back.

Or.... start with replacing the drive and re-altbooting. Any 160GB SATA will do.

I just replaced hard drive and did re-altbooting. But it still does not boot up to a ready state.

Pull the IME boot status from the IME board. Normal post sequence is 3-2-1. Any deviance from this will be a boot blocking code. Cross reference that code in the e-doc for the issue.

I'm sorry I mainly work on Konica's. The slide out draw where I replaced the hard drive has a LED on the outside of the draw and it flashes between a number 4 and a U symbol. Is that what your telling me to look At?

You'll need the service manual to work on this unit. Its far to complicated to fudge your way through it. Purchase from service-manual.net. Pay attention to OF12 Other Failures.

OK, The manual states a flashing #4 equals failed NVM memory. The battery that holds the settings is supposed to be a minimum of 2.7 volts. My reading is .5 volts. So I am going to replace the battery but would like to know if you ever had to do this on any other ColorQubes? Thanks again for your input.

Habitual failure on the ColorQube range. Extremely so if the unit has been sitting idle. As a bonus when you swap the battery the unit will go back to zero on the counters.

Is this a unit that has sat?

Your drum drive belt will be toast or close to it. They stretch under the tension and end up with a flat spot. Prepare to replace it. Easy job.
