PWS Windows 7 Fix

Anyone have the Non-Xerox PWS Windows 7 patch? I get the following message when Unlock starts up and none of the Diagnostic SW will work on this PWS.

"WARNING Couldn't Start PWSL16H.EXE 16 bit applications will not be able to get authorization"

Try this. Go to all programs, Xerox applications, PWS repair. Try running this, it may fix the problem. PWS 11.0 was originally designed to run on Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit, with Internet Explorer 8. I have never seen PWS 11.0 run on 64 bit, but it must work if people are running it. I have not seen a patch to fix your problem.

Version 11.3 for Win7, 11.6 for Win10 both on 64 bit

Thanks guys! Now I need to find Rel 11.3. Luckily I have other older XP PWS that I can use all the tools on, only issue is having to take 2 laptops on service calls. Could be worse

Have to start fresh with Win 7 Professional 32 bit. Its not the fastest but will do the job if you are only using the computer for the PWS. The 64 bit will give you that error. The Windows 10 version I am not a fan of but has its Pros. . Will wait until Microsoft stops supporting Win 7 for the next release. Easier navigation thru Window 7 if that is all that you are using the computer for.

If you are running Win 7,32 Bit, PWS 11.0, IE8, you can make the older diagnostics work. These diagnostics, DC12, DC2045, DC6060 etc, , are designed for XP, but can be used on Win 7. After loading 3.1 diagnostics package, place a shortcut for a diagnostics program on the desktop, right click the shortcut, select properties, select compatibility, check mark RUN IN XP/SP3 MODE. To insure 16 bit programs are shown in Win 7, select Ctrl/Alt/ Del, Task Mgr, options tab, insure SHOW 16 BIT TASKS is checked.
