Yellow band across page. Looks like a poorly formed lightning bolt (Newbie question)

    Machine: Workcentre 7855 w/pro finisher

I'm working on an issue where a yellow band prints across the page.
The band extends the width of the page.
It isn't continuous across the page. It looks more like a series of little rectangles that are slightly misaligned. Each rectangle is about 1.5 inches long.
I'm fairly certain it's a physical issue, but I'm having trouble figuring out which way to go.
    The band has defined edges.

This newbie appreciates any help. Thanks

I considered printing out that defects page, but then came to the conclusion that the band's repeating rectangle pattern wouldn't conform to the measurements indicated on the printout.

Of course I forgot to bring that home with me.

I'll have to update this post tomorrow with the pic.

Try swopping the yellow drum with some other color. If the problem follows the drum that is your problem. However it sounds like you are describing barber pole deletions. In that case replace the yellow developer and or developer unit.
