Arrrrggggg Xerox 7800GX need help with HDD replacement.

hi All, so grateful for all the knowledgable folks here.
I am in desperate need of a HDD replacement for my 7800GX. It died last week while printing a stored job. Rebooted and it went into a loop of "energy star" screen.
I replaced it with a 250GB drive, cuz I don't have 160GB available (the size in the printer). did an altboot, force_upgrade...etc and the printer was back alive.
The problem I am running into is that it will not store jobs, personal or secure, the print job gets sent and then the printer deletes it.

I notice the config print out say HDD not installed. I tried removing the HDD and then boot the 7800GX. it blue screens and tell me no HDD present; so it requires the HDD installed.

I then tried to do a clean on the drive via diskpart to make it factory; altboot. but still not being regonized.

does any one know if you require a certain format on the HDD or does it have to be a 160GB??

thanks in advance. I am very desperate

Where did you get that Harddrive? Every documentation points to 160gb. Get the Xerox harddrive and force upgrade. A lot of people go out and buy a regular harddrive thinking that it will work.
