    Servicing a Xerox workcentre 5335

Hello,we have a customer that wants us to service their 5335 model. I have heard Xerox does a lot of things so that a non xerox techs canot work on them. Is this really the case? Can this model be serviced by a non xerox tech? I have heard things also about metered toner, not sure exactly what that is. Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Yeah, I understand that it is just a copier,I am not worried about that aspect of it. I just have read before about how xerox does things to make it hard for a non xerox tech to work on it.

Always better to be trained than NOT. So you have no factory support , no parts and no supplies sounds like an easy choice NO.

Biggest hassle is there are very few papaer manuals or pdf's.
Most of the Xerox info is in what Xerox calls "EDOC"'s.
These can be hard to get, and require password security every time you use them (GSN Lock).

You have to ask yourself is it worth the trouble.

On the lower end machines you can find the paper and PDF manuals, but once you get into the higher end stuff
          it's all on "EDOC".

          Good Luck
