sounds more like you need to set the paper settings.

not really sure what you mean by " gloss level"?

please explain your problem more clearly or take and post a pic of the quality issue.

      The image quality is faint
The shinny gloss effect is not present in the print out

your 'gloss level' isn't due to PAPER.. it's due to LACK OF TONER on the page. the fact they are using glossy paper ( and print so faint ) makes me wonder if the PAPER SETTINGS are incorrect!? on gloss/thick paper it should be defined in the PRINT DRIVER ( usually under ADVANCED Settings )

what is the life on the consumables?
have you thoroughly CLEANED all the laser lens?
have you tried a plain paper in it?

and I see you messed with the NVRAM? WHY? NVRAM is different than FIRMWARE ( which should be reinstalled )

do you have the service manual for this and WHY THE HELL aren't you following it?

there are SOOO many things you can muck up on a Xerox machine -= IF =- you DO NOT FOLLOW THE R.A.P.S. precisely .... you might need to get a PWS to properly work on a Xerox machine.

also is this hooked up to a fiery? there could be profiles on the fiery that are causing problems... you really haven't given us much information to work with on the problem.

you also state " I have a Xerox C550 " not mentioning if it is your PERSONAL or if it belongs to a customer!??

does this mean you are NOT a Xerox Tech?

if not a tech then disregard EVERYTHING I have told you and....

            GO HIRE A XEROX TECH!
