Long story short, Xerox Helpline advised me that this machine needs a software update to resolve a particular issue.
Sure! I've done it plenty times before on previous models.
So I download the firmware via support.xerox.com, download the manual upgrade, download the Manual upgrade. I copy and paste the 07319007534540 dlm file to USB(fat32) > altboot > FORCED_UPGRADE (no extension).
I come back... who knows how long I didn't count. But it started saying "Device unavailable". And would reboot, again, and again in 10 minute intervals?
Called Xerox, Rep says "Oh yeah, sometimes that firmware fails I don't use that one. Use this one, sends me a link to this file:
Workcentre_5845-5890_system-sw07319004815000
I repeat the process, and....It's been like this for over an hour. Haven't seen the upgrade form yet.
Help would be appreciated.
