Have got a Xerox WorkCentre 7556 and the fan on the rear board, behind the rear cover, runs continuously most of the day, even when the machine is sleeping. Occasionally it will shut down for a couple of seconds but it then starts up again.
Having thought this might be the sensor on the fan itself, we acquired a new, identical model fan and fitted this. However, the problem continues.
Any thoughts? The service manual doesn't seem to have any reference to this possible problem, nor a solution. All help gratefully received!
Interestingly, when we replaced the fan, for the first day speed of connection from PCs in the office improved hugely. But now it's back to taking up to a minute to print a simple single page document from either a Windows or a Mac. Once again, any help to speed things up would be hugely appreciated!
