wc7556 black is coming out gray

Color is coming out good but black is coming out gray. It is darker toward front of machine bust gets lighte as you go toward rear of machine
so that last quarter of page is light gray. Customer changed toner but made no difference. I went there and customer had no drum in stock
so I swapped with one which was at 70% as black was at 20%. Made no difference.

There is about 375k in black count. I am considering changing black dv unit and developer. No fault codes. I would think if toner motor or dv unit
were not turning there would be a fault code. Any advice is appreciated very much. Frank

with that many pages on it .. it sounds like the K Dev unit is dying... install new..calibrate .. they ARE using OEM toner correct?

Re: wc7556 black is coming out gray

On Feb 8 changed black dv unit and developer and quality has improved significantly. Customer had said she had
heard a loud noise on the right side of machine. She thought perhaps from rear of machine. She called Saturday
saying machine called for magenta toner. She changed it and machine said magenta was empty and to changethough
                it was new toner.

I was there yesterday and the magenta toner dispense coil was broken at the end where the gear sits at front of machine

I ordered a toner pipe dispense assembly today. Looked in manual and does not show how to remove and replace. just shows

toner motor dispense assembly in rear of machine. I did not look carefully yesterday to see how it would be removed as I did
not know how part(s) were available until I checked manual. Would someone please enlighten me as I have not changed that
                assembly before. Frank
