I have a xerox 4265 wont boot up copier just say machine busy then reboots I believe it's the hdd how do load software on nee hdd when copier does boot up

Software can be put onto a thumb drive and loaded thru the boot mode. Go to Business Services and Digital Printing Solutions – Xerox and retrieve the software and unzip to folder. In the whitepapers of the file it will show you exactly how to load. Follow those directions and viola your paper weight will come to life. This model sucks when it comes to the HDD on the 4150, 4250 model you can disconnect the HDD and continue to use the machine. Not on the 4265, machine is dead in water (great boat anchors) until it is reloaded or replaced. If you dont know current software version you are ok as versions should have all previous loaded into it. Think only 3 versions for this model as it is different from previous models stated above. Also a generic HDD will work check specs on installed one and should work as Xerox has blank version and loaded version of HDD available.

Replace IP board, firmware isn't stored on HDD on this device.
Can't remember what's in there, but try go into diagnostics and look at resets / initializations / memory clear first.Comment
