Re: Xerox counter reset
So write down the current meter reading before you send it out again, then calculate the difference when it comes back.Comment

Re: Xerox counter reset
Perhaps is considered "Normal" where you are, but in most other countries it's considered fraud or misrepresentation. A used/reconditioned machine can be sold as used...but to roll back the main counter in order to sell the unit as "new" can get you into all sorts of legal trouble! I'm not sure what sort of Consumer Protection Laws you have in your country, but here in the US they're quite specific about not doing this sort of thing.
We sell reconditioned machines all the time.... We tell the customer that even though the machine has "XXX" amount of copies on it, all the consumables inside the machine have been replaced so we can "Warranty it" as if it were new. This saves them a lot of money (Usually about half of retail for a brand new unit), and gets an even OLDER machine out of the field.Comment

Re: Xerox counter reset
There is nothing normal about it.
If you're renting it out, the customer doesn't care what the meter is. So track their meter in an legit way, as others here have described.
But don't try to tell those of us here that rolling back the main meter is NORMAL.Comment
