    Printing to DocuColor 240

    Greetings,

I'm trying to print to a Xerox DocuColor 240 via its IP address using a Standard TCP/IP port from Windows Vista, but it fails with a status of Error - Printing.

The latest driver for the 240 from Xerox.com is installed, and I can access the properties for the DocuColor 240.

On the DocuColor 240, is direct IP printing supported or must I use the built-in print server (\\DC_250)?

    Thanks,

Thanks @xcopytech. Changing the port protocol from RAW to LPR fixed the communication problem.

The print job gets sent to the DocuColor 240 and is cleared from the print queue on my desktop.

The problem now is that the DocuColor 240 prints a page of xml/xpif code, and then displays...

The paper size/orientation in Tray 1 is different from the selected size.
Load 8.5x11" in the tray and check paper guide adjustment.
or, press C button to cancel the print job.

      Tray 1 is 8.5x14", Tray 2 is 11x17", Tray 3 & 4 are 8.5x11"

The print properties > Paper/Output > Output Destination is set to Printer Default, and I also tried Auto.

      1. Why is the DocuColor 240 printing a page of xml/xpif code?
      2. Why isn't the DocuColor 240 automatically selecting the correct paper tray instead of Tray 1?

      Thanks.

      P.S.
One line in the xml/xpif code says:
      <output-bin syntax="keyword">automatic</output-bin>
So I guess the printer driver is trying to tell the DocuColor 240 to use automatic bin selection, but since the code is printed instead of interpet by the 240, the 240 tries to use Tray 1 but sees the wrong paper size.

before U start printing make sure I go to Page setup and select your DC240 and paper size(a5-a3 or whatever size is).

Then U go to your print options (don't know what u use(quark, Indesign, bla, bla) and sent it for print

        hope it'll help

          Greetings,

After enabling SNMP Status for the Standard TCP/IP port, the DocuColor 240 stopped printing the xml/xpif page.

From Word 2007, I can successfully print to 8.5x11 after explicitly selecting "Large capacity 3" in Page Setup for the Paper source. This is good that printing does work, but asking users to modify the paper source in their documents, especially since they print to different printers, would be a problem.

What needs to be done to the DocuColor 240 to get it to automatically select the correct paper tray for the job size?

          Thanks,
