xerox 6655 traded in with no hard drive

I do not handle Xerox very often so I hope someone can help , we traded in this xerox in great shape but customer kept hard drive. I wuld like to know can I replace hard drive with a standard sata drive and just install software to make it run or do I have to buy a specific hard drive with the data already writtin to it. If it is the first can someone provide me with the procedure and software to do it

    thanks in advance

    Ric

Standard 160GB HDD then just Altboot to reload the firmware.

        WorkCentre 6655 Drivers & Downloads

Suggest using the CK1.5 version if you don't know what version was installed previously, can always upgrade later if necessary.

Should be a DLM file in the archive when you download, this is the firmware file.

Use a USB stick 8GB or less and create a folder called altboot in the root directory, drop the DLM file into the altboot folder.
When new HDD is installed plug in the USB stick and power on and firmware reload will begin.

        *EDIT*

I've just had a quick look, 320GB is the default size HDD but will also accept 500GB, 160GB should work as it's the standard part i carry and fit to all machines.
