[Misc] Xerox 7120 - reducing toner consumption

Hi all. i was wondering if you guys can help me with some specific ideas on how to reduce toner consumption on the 7120/7125 series. I have a few customers who don't care much about quality but quantity.
    Thanks

might be a draft setting in the print driver, but i'm sure you've already set to lowest quality. Also should be option to print pure black instead of composite black, this saves on the colour toners but black runs out more quickly.

I'm.interested in saving black toner the most. Can the density be adjusted in service mode or am i just messing up the factory settings?

Dug out the following, may be useful: TRC adjustment can be used to lower toner density for each colour.

Perform this adjustment only to correct a strong
customer complaint. Altering the setpoints will affect both Print and Copy
modes. Also, there is quite a bit of overlap among the low, medium, and high
densities. For these reasons, it is recommended that this procedure not be used
        unless absolutely necessary.

To adjust image quality (TRC) to meet the user's
preference, by increasing or decreasing the center value of gradation correction
for each (YMCK) color, in low density, medium density, and high density ranges.

        Adjust

        Enter the Diagnostic Mode.

        1. From the Maintenance/Diagnostics screen,
          select Max
          Setup
          .

        2. Select the TRC Adjustment button.

        3. Values can be entered for each color and black. Select
the button for the color you want to adjust.

          • Type in the new values; the default is 0, and the range
is from -128 to +127 (0 indicates no adjustment. Positive (+) numbers increase
the density, and negative (-) numbers reduce the density. Select a

          • If necessary, select a different color button and
adjust the density for that color.

        4. Select Copy and Print button.

        5. Select Close.

        6. Exit Diagnostic Mode, then switch the machine power off
          then on.

        7. Make 2 prints or copies. Ask the customer if the
          desired result is achieved.

        8. Repeat steps 3 through 8 until the customer is
          satisfied with the image quality.
