[Misc] xerox 700 dcp not printing magenta after replacing drum.

Hi, my xerox 700 was working perfectly until I got a message that the yellow and magenta drum needed replacing. I replaced both drums and the magenta does not print. Swapped the two drums around, yellow works fine but magenta still does not print. Put new magenta toner in, still same issue. I've check the dev unit and the gears look fine. Am I missing something? Cheers.

Check the contact in the back of the dev unit and on the back wall of the unit. The dev unit has a "L" shaped contact that inserts into a plastic piece with a spring in it.

      Hi InterfaceP,

the connectors and springs look fine. When I get under the developer/drum drawer with both magenta and yellow drums out, on the yellow developer when I spin the left hand side gear you can see toner magnetically attached to the dev cylinder. On the magenta I can only see the developer dust and no toner. It's like no toner is being put in the developer. Also the gear on the yellow developer is hard to turn while the magenta spins easy.

      Cheers.

Remove the drum and the 2 screws on the dev cover. Open it up and see how much developer material is in there, the auger should be a little over half visible.

Hi mate, you can see the full auger with hardly no toner in there. The toner cartridge was changed not long before the drum change and is pretty much brand new. It was working before I changed the drum.

Well you definitely need developer material.
