[Misc] Freeflow DFE and Xerox DC8000AP

Hy, can you please share with me some knowledge with Freeflow RIP connected to DC8000AP

Problem begin with occasional failure from DFE to recognize printer trays. So i have to reboot printer and DFE once again to be rocognized, and sometimes tickle with Y cable connector. That was good for a while. Later it stops completely to recognize printer at all.

    I tried:
    1. remove all cables and reconnect it
    2. reconnect cables in Y > C, K > M on both sides
    3. change order off two boards in printer side electrical module.
    4. changed order and cleaned three XCDM-BSP15XR PWBA in DFE PCI slots
    5. Rearrange cables of three PWBA board that connect between each other

RIP boots sometimes in Free Flow 6.xxx and I print test job from samples, but blank paper comes out, DFE freezes and printer shows RIP Server Subsytem fault 016-501 and sometimes 016-375, After that i need to restart DFE. And same thing happen again.
BTW. Printer prints fine from PWS diag tool, no faults declared.

After all that I reinstalled complete system from FreeFlow DVD - Full format, clean install without config backups, booted fine in FreeFlow, manage to print one sample job in color. everything was looking fine. After that i closed PC case and put it in place where it needs to be, beside printer and after power on again its not working, send job and only one blank paper comes out and DFE freeze, printer shows fault.

I don't have ideas any more, does anyone know what and where to go next with this problem?

i had a similar issue on DC5000 FFPS 6.0 turned out to be faulty RAM.

RAM and check interior of box for dirt buildup,, especially on processor fan.
It almost sounds like a heat issue,, works for a while,, open the box, take it outside, take an air hose to it.

Why you get white sheets is a mystery ?? Points more to some interface connection

Treat the connectors with some contact cleaner,, and as David suggested, RM.
RAM is cheap for these legacy boxes.

Do you have access to later software? This is not your problem,, but 6.xx has always been problematic. It was the first X86 software after Xerox abandoned the Sparc processor,, and left a lot to be desired. For an 8000AP, software is going to be harder to find,, but someone has it.

If you can find some flavor of 7.xx,, the later the better, then I can get you a free upgrade license.
You only need one license to upgrade, the remainder are still usable.
