    Xerox dc242 drum reset

Hello friends. I have a DC242. I had very little drum availability left. Those who are working now are in good condition but they have practically finished their life cycle. Is it possible to tell the machine, by modifying some nvm entries, to be able to continue using the same drum? I was doing this with the dc12. Without replacing either the drum or the chip, the machine continued to use the same drum. Thanks

Yes. It isn't really a "reset" but will switch the machine to "Warn and Continue" mode, which will allow the machine to continue going even though the drum has hit 0%. It will stay at 0% once it gets there, so your gauge will no longer mean anything, so keep an eye on your print quality.

    Set NVM 751-448 to 1.

The "Replace NOW!" pink screen warning will still come up, but it will continue to operate for a long time, likely longer than the drum itself will last.

It will EVENTUALLY stop and require replacement even with this setting on, but on the WorkCentre 76xx, 77xx, 240-242-250-252-260, your drum will have probably physically failed before this point anyway.

The NVM setting is the same for all the machines I listed. WorkCentre 7655, 7665, 7675, WorkCentre 7755, 7765, 7775, DocuColor 240/250, and DocuColor 242/252/260.

Hi, would this also work on the C75 Press?
