Xerox Workcentre 5335 change copy/scan/fax default "auto detect" to "letter size"

Trying to change the default copy/scan/fax paper size from "auto-detect" to "8 1/2 X 11" but having no luck finding it. Checked service manual but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?
