Replacing Splash G640 with Fiery XP12 RIP

We had our Splash G640 stolen recently. I had a Fiery XP12 on hand and attached it to our Docucolor 12, however the Docucolor will not print.
Is there any settings (NVM, hardware switches, etc.) that I must make to allow the docucolor 12 to use the Fiery XP12 RIP (it was originally connected to the Splash G640)? Thanks for any help/advise.

Hi. Since you've got Splash G640 originally, I assume you're running mac OSX. In this case your must load the PS printer driver for Fiery x12 version 1.5 Service pack 2

first try to print configuration print from fiery XP12.
do not use X12 printer driver, willot work with it.

second, what message you have on fiery and on machine.
      does fiery come to ready?

what is level of system software on your fiery?

if you can not printanything, even from fiery, you maybe need patch 1-5772P.ps

First of all thank you for your help with this.
No, I am not using Mac OSX as the whole computer was stolen hardware and software. I have replaced it with the Fiery XP-12 computer. I have connected it to my Docucolor and I don't get any error messagers on the Fiery screen, however when I try to print a configuration page nothing happens, that is it does not print to the Docucolor. So my question is can you replace the Splash computer and software with a Fiery computer directly or do I have to change some printer setting so that it will print from the Fiery XP12 computer? Thanks again for your help.

Yes you can replace the splash with a Fiery. No printer settings to be changed. However, since you can't print the config page, you need to download a patch to the Fiery as suggested above. Thanks

Thanks for the great info, I tried to find that patch, but was unsuccessful, and since I cannot print a config page, I don't know whether I have XP12 ver 1.1 or XP12 ver 1.1 with SP1. The question is; is there anywhere I can download the latest XP12 system disks, they are not available on the Xerox downloads site. I notice that some of the users ask for something to trade, well I have Splash G640 system complete. That brings me to my last question (thus far... ), can I remove the PCI controller cards from the XP12 computer, put them in a Mac, load the Splash software, and be back in business? Thanks for your time and help.

when your fiery come to ready, you can see which software version is installed.

                  should be XP12 1.1
                  or XP 12 1.1 SP 1
                  or XP 12 1.1 SP 2

Ok, xcopytech, I think you are on the right track. I installed the patch and tried to print a config page, this time it sent the print job to the DC 12 (it didn't do that before). However now, just printed a sheet with a grey bar about half inch thick, around mid page. also the Fiery now just keeps rebooting by itself continuously. This XP12 is running NT 4.0 possibly service pack 5. It it my belief that I need updated software for this cpu. I understand that there is XP12 ver 2.0 out there somewhere, the trick is to some how get my hand on it. If you have any thoughts, please let me know and I really appreciate all your help.

                      and fiery ask for restart?

The software version on the XP12 is 1.1, no there are no license errors, it does communicate with the with the Docucolor 12, the display on the Fiery is normal, however the Docucolor 12 just doesn't actually output anything except the black bar I mentioned before, but the printer goes through the motions, so to speak. Where can I get updated software (ver. 1.1 SP1, SP2 or ver. 2.0). Brubru, I would like to see the nvm settings you mentioned. Thanks all.

try to reinstall video card in fiery.

also try to restore system backup from fiery.

hold forth button from right side oc fiery lcd while powering on fiery.
hold that button until get menu screen, choose restore system backup from menu and follow installation procedure.

                            after that install patch again.

but if still have same problem, think that fiery video card is damaged.
