    Xerox 700!i GRINDING HELP

My xerox 700i is grinding gears on the main pipeline in back of machine. I've taken it and waste toner pieces apart and vacuumed and cleaned it, replaced all the gears and put it together. it ran great for about 4000 copies and now it's back to grinding gears. it hasnt faulted or stopped running after about 1000 copies so far.
Anybody have any ideas what to do next?

Most gear grinding noises come from drums or developer assembly's .. occasional tray 5 and the odd occasion is the 2nd btr

Replace the waste toner channel assembly, the gear alone cannot solve the problem

Agreed. Based on your description, this is the Direct Pipe Assembly, and once it gets to the point of the gears slipping (grinding) cleaning it only works very briefly.

This is the single most common reason for a gear grinding noise on these models, and is a common issue, particularly for older or heavily used units.

Oh geez: this was an ancient thread.
