    [Misc] Xerox 700 & CX700 around problems

    Hi!
    I have some questions
    1. Is it possible to upgrade 700 to 700i?
    2. Is it possible to upgrade hardware CX700 SSD/RAM?
    3. After reinstalling the system from the original discs, I cannot start printing. The file ripped, sent to the printer and "canceled by the user" with a print spool error. What wrong?

    1. Yes
    2. You can upgrade RAM. For ssd not sure because you have one system disk and two image discs in Creo which have to be same.
    3. What software level you have install on creo

Delete all files from Creo from folder d:\spool\PRINTERS

        1) The only difference between the 700 and 700i is the controllers. For Fiery, newer controllers were released, and through the controller (not through copying) you could duplex heavier paper. For Creo and FreeFlow, they didn't release new controllers, so I don't know if they gained that functionality. If they did, it would have been in a software update.

But yes, any 700, if loaded with the most recent software, will show 700/700i on the boot screen and will be no different software-wise or hardware-wise (on the copier itself) than a machine which was SOLD as a 700i and has 700i on the front cover. But other than the Fiery upgrade I mentioned which enables heavier duplexing (and faster RIP speeds, since they are newer), there is no other real difference between them.

No. You can not upgrade ex700 to ex700i.
Ex700 is win xp based system.
            Ex700i is win 7

As xcopytech said, they are different Windows systems, but even the Fiery hardware of the EX700 vs EX700i RIP itself is completely different. The EX700i is a newer and faster motherboard, etc. So unfortunately, yeah, it's not possible, even for someone who is good at "tinkering" with things.

Only the copier itself can be upgraded from the 700 to the 700i. (Because a 700 _IS_ a 700i once you're upgraded to the latest firmware. But if your Fiery is still an EX700, you don't gain any new features.)

Main difference between 700 and 700i is duplex printing at 300gsm but that option also can be adjusted at 700 with latest software

Machine software is not possible to download on machine without xerox pws.
So only xerox tech can help you.
