Hello guys ,am having a challenge here in East Africa with these toner suppliers ,they have two different types of branded box both for xerox versant 80,one box has a seal for on top of the box and the other box has its seal on the side of the box ,the boxes look totally different ,am wondering if xerox can really have two different toner boxes .

I don't know about the boxes but just about all xerox machines have 2 types of toner depending on the billing status of the machine. 1 is called Metered toner (if you purchase your toner directly from xerox) or Non-Metered toner (you purchase toner from a non xerox vendor). Depending on how the machine is set up you need to purchase the correct toner or you will get a toner incompatibility error. -

And if you are buying toner from an individual seller such as from Ebay, you really don't know what you are getting. You may have a machine that uses "sold" or Non Metered and buying from a guy who has a Xerox contract and is sitting on a stock pile of extra "metered" toner. If your machine was set up for Metered toner and you use Non-metered toner, ,now it's lock as Non-metered. If you try to use Metered again, you get an error.Comment
