    Hi azehnali,

To perform a software reload from the machine HDD, do the following:-

1.) Power down the machine at the top switch and wait for the screen to go blank.
2.) Power down the machine at the switch inside the centre door.
3.) Press and hold the power saver button while powering on the machine at the switch inside the centre door.
4.) When the display gets to 1/6 and blinks, release the power saver button.
5.) Make sure the machine has 8.5x11/A4 paper loaded in a tray to print the software upgrade report.

This will boot up the machine into "Downloading" mode and later the screen should change from "Downloading" to "Transferring". Below the word "Transferring" a progress indicator should show "1/X" where X is the number of modules it will upgrade.

To perform a software upgrade using newer software, do the following:-

1.) Copy the new firmware to the desktop of the DFE.
2.) Open a browser window and type in the IP address 100.100.100.101.
3.) Navigate to Properties | Services | Machine Software | Upgrades.
4.) Place a tick in the Enabled check box.
5.) Select Manual Upgrade from the Services menu.
6.) Select the Browse button and locate the new firmware on the DFE desktop.
7.) Before pressing the Install button, make sure the press displays "Ready to Print" on the screen.

The following steps work on a Versant 80/180 and I haven't confirmed if it works on the Versant 2100/3100.

1.) Create a DWLD folder on a thumb drive and copy the .bin file into the folder.
2.) Make sure the press is powered off.
3.) Insert the thumb drive into the USB port of the machine (Versant 80/180 at the front) (Versant 2100/3100 I am not sure where it would be inserted).
4.) Follow steps 3 and 4 of the first set of instructions.
5.) Make sure the machine has 8.5x11/A4 paper loaded in a tray to print the software upgrade report.

    Hope this information helps.

should the folder be DLWD or dwld
I read that it should be lower case
the usb on the 2100 is in the back by the UI cable

        Hi azehnali,

The folder name is dwld. I'm not sure if it's case sensitive. Try both. I unfortunately don't have my PWS handy.

            Hi azehnali,

Attached is a PDF of the fault code from the E-Docs. I also had a look for Eureka tips to help and came up empty-handed.

024-371 Communication between the ESS and IOT has not been established.

              Perform the steps that follow:

              1. Switch off, then switch on the machine, .
              2. Ensure that all connectors on the drive PWB, PL 1.10 Item 4 and the ESS PWB, PL 3.10 Item 6 are securely connected. Ensure all surface mounted modules on both PWBs are securely connected.
              3. Reload the software,
              4. Perform the OF2
              Special Boot Modes RAP.
              5. If the fault persists, install new components as necessary
