    Xerox c450 not printing

    Hi all

I have a Document Centre c450 ( similar to WC 72xx machines) was running fine until 116-324 error. I powered off/on but same error so did (6/stop/power save) reboot to clear print queue. The machine now won't print. It copies, scans to email, scans to mail, prints internal reports and pings. It won't print and won't print from web browser.
It's on a LAN ethernet consisting only Imac/Router/Printer. I have changed ethernet cable, deleted and reinstalled driver, 4/stop/power save reboot and ripped hair out.
Any suggestions as to what to look for or do (be polite please) would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers
    Glenn

have you verified link lights on the NIC?

what is the IP Addy? has it changed?

do you have a manual to tell you what the error is?

Have you done the RAP for the error?

Thanks Phil B for your reply. NIC lights and IP address OK.
As for RAP - I have not yet reseated DIMMS or that fails replace ESS PWB!
Can you think of any other area I could look at. The machine works in all other areas (copy/scan etc) bar print from computer.
      No errors showing.

      cheers

have they installed a new router?

have you checked via PING or TRACE for problems on the IP addy?

have you applied all new firmware to the machine?

why haven't you reseated DIMMS ?

I am not a fan of replacing boards willy nilly.. define the problem first THEN is needed replace boards.

you never answered my question of WHAT the manual says to do for that error?

gawd I hope you aren't working on ANY Xerox without the manual?

          Hi Phil
The router has been in use for a year no probs.
Have pinged and traced pinters address no problems.
Have cleaned and reseated DIMMS and also tried others from a parts machine - no result.

The RAP on the original error is:
116-324 System Detected An Error RAP
          Unusual CPU processing occurred.
          Initial Actions
          Refer to BSD 16.1.
          Power OFF/ON
          Procedure
Pull out and insert or replace the DIMM (PL 9.2).
Replace the ESS PWB (PL 9.2).

As for firmware update - machine is some 15 years old and can't be accessed via network.
It copies scans pings showing no errors but cant be accessed by the network.
          cheers
