normal paper is not thick paper. Thick paper is... thicker. Not very scientific or necessarily relevant but that may help understand : if you have a 2cm space between 2 rolls and you try to make a 1,5cm pizza with 0,3cm of topping go through them, they'll pass. if you add 0,3cm of tomato sauce on top of it, the 0,1cm of exceeding tomato sauce on top of it will spill all over the place : too much tomato sauce (or too thick pizza)
