Hey all. In my quest for old school xerography I was recommended a Xerox xc830, and managed some time later to find one for free. It all powers on ok and doesn't show any warnings, but copying leaves a thin gray layer of toner all over the page, along with some slight ghosting of what's being copied. My initial thought was that it might have been the fuser, but a lack of flaking and the problem being present even after stopping the paper before reaching the fuser makes me think its not. I then changed the drum unit, which did nothing, and then changed the toner cartridge, which only made things slightly worse. So at this point I'm pretty much at my wits end, could it be something else along the printer path? Also it might not seem like something worth fixing considering its age, but I am actually interested in getting this thing more functional, if at all possible. Do let me know if any more information is needed and I will do my best to provide it. Thank you.
Edit: It's also worth mentioning that it will leave this toner on the paper even when the scanner bed is completely blank/empty.
