ALC8070 Light Density on Black Color

    Hello, Best Copytechnet Community,

I'm facing an issue with a customer who has a Xerox AltaLink C8070 multifunction device. When printing in light density on black, there are some problems with the output (photo attached). The color prints come out fine with no visible fading or weak colors.

We’ve already replaced the CMYK tubing, CMYK developer, and housing, and performed the DC663 adjustment in service settings. I urgently need assistance to understand what might be causing this issue. In Prolibro, I found reference to type 1464676, but if anyone has additional suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I've also checked the housing, and all colors, including black, have proper magnetic alignment without any blank spots on the roller.

Thanks in advance to everyone for your help!

    ProLibro tip: 1464676

Internal test prints show light density in one or more colors.
May be non-uniform with a darker strip along the outboard end. There are no fault codes and ProCon print says OK even though the color density is light.

    Cause
Developer housing is not sitting tight against the drum on the inboard end due to dislodging of the Developer Bias contact plunger support.

    Solution
Remove center output tray cover, toner dispensers, IBT belt assembly, drums, and developer housings to get a good look at the developer bias contact plunger (see photos). Remove the plunger (PL 5.2 Item 10) and inspect the black plastic support that it clips onto. There should be no gap between the black plastic support and the steel frame. If there is a gap, attempt to reseat the plastic support by pushing down and to the left. On my machine it would not stay in place so I used epoxy (43P00073) to secure it. If the support is not secure to the metal frame, the inboard end of the developer housing will not be supported properly against the drum

    Best regards, Little Johnny
