ADF jams on wc 7830 ...

Hi

I have noticed a lot of jams in 78series in ADF. Solution was always to press adf top cover to prevent jamming and finish the copy job but I would like to ask if someone know how to resolve this issues rather than replacing whole adf unit?
I have seen it on all 78series.

You need to have more force from adf cover when it is close. Look arround how you can do this.

Yes I know this but not sure what can I do. I have tried replacing ADF lever latch for 7845/55 but only once this helps. Inserting paper clip cause scratching on the edge of cover so maybe someone have a better solution? Like I said I seen this many times and decided to ask in the forum for some better ideas. I do not want still advise to put heavy book - you know what I mean
Do you replacing adf unit or know some tricks?

Many years ago on WC72xx copiers I fix some covers. I dont change the whole adf unit. The customers here are not so rich.
Must be found a balance between paper feed roller force and take away roll force. Also increase diameter of nudger roll can help.
In some situation metal strip on inboard outboard of the adf cover will help.
