Metal contact at rear of developer housing should contact a spring at the rear of the machine. Sometimes the spring (held in a small black plastic piece) can break.
Pull out main draw, IBT drawer and drum/Dev drawer and shine torch inside. Look for the 4 black Dev contacts and look for damage. Also check back of Dev housing to ensure metal contact is straight and not bent.

Hi Dacam.
First check if the Magenta Development Unit is spinning, Take out the unit and manually check if all the gears move when spinning, usually if it doesn't it is because the gears break and need to be changed. If the development unit is fine, I recommend you check the Developer Drive Assembly, in some cases there is a gear that breaks and is responsible for turning the development unit.
Good luck.
the power supply for magenta could have failed... in which case all of the magenta developer would be depleted... I've seen it before in a 550, only in yellow.
