Hi all:
I received a service request for a Xerox Workcentre 6655 printer. Symptoms: on boot, it would blink the interrupt light for a long time, then reboot or display an error message instructing you to reboot the printer.
According to research, the hard drive needed to be replaced. Ok, got a near identical Toshiba 500Gb HDD, installed it, and tried the altboot method. Ended up with a reboot loop (flashing interrupt light). It would access the USB disk for only a few seconds, then reboot.
So I kept trying different things on the usb stick: making sure altboot was the only file, renaming it to ALTBOOT, trying different firmware files, adding the FORCED_UPGRADE and other empty files in ALTBOOT, etc. Nothing much happened. Then I decided to reseat the SD Card, and now its not appearing to boot at all.
When I apply power, for a second or two the row of LEDs on the back board cycle up, then go out, and then nothing more happens. It just sits there, no motors ever move, no noise, nothing.
Is my SD Card dead?
Thanks!
