Re: xerox 570 HCF not detected
i think it’s a VKk , yes it receives power , the trays go up and down , out and in , they initialise but that’s all the do , even when you put paper on tray5 , it’s not detected, even when you open tray5 top cover it does show on the printer screen tray 5 open error but when you close it , the HCF initialises , but that’s all it does, when you remove the bypass cable , the machine shows tray5 open error,
If you’ve got a tray that is moving forward and backward, and you can see it happening, that’s an AKC. If you can ‘hear’ it moving forward and backward, but can’t ‘see’ it, because it is all happening internally, that’s not an AKC but one of the newer large 1- or 2-tray feeders. But it makes no difference, everything I’ll say below is the same for ALL of the large feeders.
Make sure you have both cables connected. There is one for Tray 5 and another one for Tray 6. There are two connection sockets on the printer, both get cables plugged into them. If you don’t have Tray 5 connected, that would prevent the machine from starting up properly. And would certainly prevent it from detecting paper when you put it in there, because Tray 5 wouldn’t be getting any power.
So to summarize, you’ll have one cable coming out the big feeder that goes to the lower socket on the printer, that powers Tray 6. The short cable physically connected to Tray 5 will plug in directly below it, then there’s another jumper cable out the back of the printer which connects to the upper socket on the printer. The same place Tray 5 would connect if it were directly attached to the printer. The connectors are all physically different sizes, so it’s impossible to get them mixed up. Xerox is good that way.Comment

Re: xerox 570 HCF not detected
MFA has two large trays (6 and 7) and of course tray 5. You can't SEE 6 and 7 go forward and backward, because the movement is internal, hidden my the covers. But you can hear it.
AKC has just one large tray, 6, and you CAN see it move forward and backward, because they didn't ride it inside the covers on that first model.
Assuming you have all the cables connected right, what matters is the model. It sounds like you might still be guessing on that, since you said "guess it's the MFA" but we'd have to know that definitively to help you, because there are several models, and they all look identical, but only one is officially designed for the 550-series, and if you've got the wrong one, well...
The serial number, which has the code, is right inside the front door. Here's a picture of one, which if you zoom in is MFA.

Re: xerox 570 HCF not detected
Thanks a lot for the response, i confused the HCF type , it’s the big , guess it’s the MFA high capacity feeder, Now about the cables , i plugged them all well because they are different in sizes and then also when you disconnect the tray 5 cable , the machine shows tray 5 top cover open error but can’t sense papers if you feed them when tray 5 is attached to the HCF, tray 5 prints fine when connected directly to the printer. then also when you disconnect the other second cable of the HCF , the printer displays an error right away , Like i said earlier on, when you power on the machine , they HCF initialises, tray 6/7 come out and in , up and down , also tray 5 does the same but when you go onto the machine , they are not listed among trays , not even in the machine configuration list , even when i reloaded software v55.40.61 , the HCF was not list on the list. so am really stuckComment
