Phaser 6280 first color print is very dark. a secont try is ok.

Hi Guys, hope your all doing well.

this printer started making the first color print of the doctors office retina scan, its about a 3 inch color dark color patch on a page with text on the rest of the page. the picture is so dark, it its mostly black, and the toner flakes off in areas from over toning.

the text areas look ok. and if they make a second print of it, its ok.

when i went and made several internal report prints like config and demo, they look fine.

i was thinking it might be a faulty HVPS.

does anyone have any past experience with this type issue?

thank you very much for any input.

Nope, not on this machine. But if the defect is on the lead edge, edge to edge, and it happens with each single color (if the machine is capable of single color), you might be right.

      ok, thank you.

the display also indicated the belt and fuser are due, and the belt blade is worn, but since the first print is different, i was thinking a HVPS.

i suppose if the belt transfer roller was shorting when it first prints, that could also possible change the density.

      thank you for the input.

      have a nice day.
