    Xerox V180 - 42-324 and 420-326

The problem originated with grinding noise. I took apart the machine to get to the waste collector system, which means I took out the LVPS1, paper handling PWB and the AC PWB.

I have gone through it numerous times and same issue. I replaced the MCU, IBT assembly, paper handling and LVPS. Same issue. I cleaned the connections on the IBT and on the rear of the machine. Removed the IBT cleaner to see if it was dragging it down, same issue. I inspected the DV units and the drum units and they seem to move fine without any clumps in the waste chute.

The only issue I see is the bottom gear on the waste collector elbow. It is the shaft that drives the waste container spring.

    Any help would be appreciated.

For 42-326 check if ibt belt is ok and it is positioning overIBT assy anticurl plates, the silver patch is ok and sensors are clean.
Then go to diagnostic menu and run Belt Learning procedure.

42-324 can be from 2nd BTR arcing or incorrect nvm values in IOT if machine have TAG 13

You are correct. The new IBT had the plates on the inside. The back up roll was not the correct one either, so I have replaced and it looks like I moved on to my next set of codes 44-389. I just finished the software upgrade.
