    Thoughts on "compatible" toner. Good/bad/ugly?

I am looking for feedback and experiences with those of you who have used a "compatible" toner powder.

I own a Xerox DC 250 and am considering trying a compatible toner.

    Good idea? Bad idea?

The Xerox toner carts are so expensive, I am hoping there is a better way.

Are there any compatible toner vendors that you would recommend?

    Thanks in advance

Bad Idea... look on the internet they are cheaper than buying from your Xerox dealer. If they are still to expensive refilled toner causes premature drum wear so you have to change drums more freqent and the toner can travel through the machine and cause more service calls.
    Hope this helps..

      thanks for the reply

Yes, I have found "cheaper" prices for Xerox branded toner on the internet.

      But, they are still expensive.

I was hoping to find a high quality toner powder that I could use to refill my own toner carts.

Has anyone had any good luck with this method?

      Thanks,

      Reg

As far as laser printers/copiers go, I haven't seen too big of a problem using compatible toners in the machines...solid ink-now thats a different story. I strongly advise using Xerox ink for those. I'm in no way affiliated with Media Science, but have seen a lot of their supplies in the field and haven't seen/heard of any problems with them.
