    [Misc] DIfference between Xerox HCF High Capacity Feeder 097S03826 and 097S04615

    What is the difference between Xerox HCF High Capacity Feeder 097S03826 and 097S04615?

    Most documentation seems to list 097S03826 as the HCF High Capacity Feeder to use with the Xerox WorkCentre 7556; however, some places list 097S04615 as also being compatible with the Xerox WorkCentre 7556.

    Is it true that the 097S04615 is also compatible with the Xerox WorkCentre 7556?

    Is either HCF High Capacity Feeder 097S03826 or 097S04615 better than the other for some reason?

    The optional equipment list for the Xerox WorkCentre 7556 shows...

    OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES:
    B2W = HIGH CAPACITY FEEDER
    GBK = HIGH CAPACITY FEEDER (SOT)

    What is the difference between the B2W and GBK products? What is the meaning of SOT?

    SOT for Xerox usually means "Stop Order Taking" meaning you can't order that particular part anymore. Either because it has been discontinued, or replaced by a new version.

    I have used that particular HCF on many machines, and while I cannot guarantee it, I think ANY model with work with ANY machine which is designed for that HCF. I used them on Phaser 5500's, WorkCentre 76xx and 77xx and DocuColor 2xx series, and it didn't matter which one it was. I even used Lexmark branded ones on Xerox, and it worked fine. I think the controller ROM in that particular HCF is not "limited" to certain models.

    Often, if even a small item (like the Tray # sticker) is different, it will have a different part number, even though the device itself is exactly the same. (This is true for example for the Phaser 5500 where that HCF is tray #5 whereas with the WorkCentre 76xx and DocuColor 2xx it is Tray #6... That would mean a different sticker is on the tray and would mean a different part number for the WHOLE thing.)

    This is NOT the case for every Xerox accessory... But, in my experience at least, for the HCF you have pictured, any machine model designed to take that HCF can take ANY version of that HCF.
