Working on a Xerox C2424 that always says add ink. Even though there is ink in it. Have had this same problem with other Xerox and Tektronix Phasers in the past and never figured it out. Anyone have any idea what to check first.

I've seen this many times on the solid ink machines. Unfortunatly Xerox considers the Inkloader an assembly so they just replace that whole unit. I've noticed that a bent pin on the inkloader where the data harness connects to has caused this...but unless you have tried replacing an inkloader or printhead, that isn't likely your case.
You could try to go into service diags and clear ISC faults...its a long shot and usually meant for 09,XXX.XX error codes, but worth a shot!
