Re: AltBoot problem - Unable to decrypt DLM

    Hi!

Is there a working solution for "Unable to decrypt .dlm" Perform Special altboot?
Have same trouble with dead Hdd- when replacing it with blank printer says unable to decrypt .dlm Perform special altboot.
    Printer is Xerox Altalink C8055
Original HDD is totally dead and we cant copy even partitions.

    Service manual says:
Be sure to install a System Disk Drive from Xerox Distribution; the use of any other hard drive will prevent the machine from booting. Do not reuse a hard drive from any other machine.
Figure 3 Installing the Disk Drive in the HDD chassis

3.Perform Regular AltBoot (GP 9) after reassembling the machine.

Ordered oem Xerox Disk: 121E28133 - came blank WD blue 500gb, with no Xerox stickers, same problem.

Local Xerox distributor says there are no special altboot proceedure. Use blank Disk as on older Workcentre 7855.
Then they said to copy disk from working same model machine- tried- doesnt work, same problem.

SD is not corrupted. We inserted blank HDD in working machine and tried to altboot- same problem- unable to decrypt .dlm.
We can Copy working hdd and insert in same machine from its copied and it works - I guess its encrypted to exact one machine or it just checks serial number on Hdd.

    Any help appriciated.

Cant get those swup files anywhere- can try them if somebody sends me them.

    Regards,
    Karlis

I think your mistake is that you are using the regular DLM file of the firmware for the AltBoot procedure. This worked with the 78xx. With the C80xx, however, there is a DLM light version (in firmware) and a full version, which has approx. 500 MB.
That was also my problem at first and I kept getting the same error.

          No

For special usb altboot you need
          Swup_usb
          Swup_usb.C8045_55
And dlm file with size about 500mb
Could you share special altboot procedure/files with me?

Good morning, reading through these threads. Still unable to determine if anyone has a solution for this problem. Or where these files can be found. I have at least 4 unusable machines. Have tried to get help from xerox. They will not respond to over a dozen attempts. Any help would be much appreciated. Areacopier from the old Smarka days. Thanks in advance.
