    Hi
I see a hight voltage connection, often the hight voltage boards that are on the bottom of the device behind the waste container get connected when the developer and toner fall, take out the bottom board and clean it with a brush. I have had this problem before.

You installed hvps from 7845 to c8045. Are they the same?

That was a great thought and I thought that'd be it! I pulled the board and didn't see any toner. I blew it all off and cleaned all the contacts, then reinstalled. Unfortunately, no change. This thing is driving me nuts!

That HVPS is a 4-channel board, so I'm not suspecting it's bad - since all four colors are blurry on the drum. There's got to be something common that's causing this. I'll keep digging!

        Thanks!

Yes, that HVPS on the back of the machine (BTR) is the same part (105E20504). I've got to swap it back, just to get the original part back in the machine, but it wasn't the issue.

In hindsight, that makes perfect sense. The image on the drum is blurry before transfer, so I'm leaning to an issue at the BCR HVPS or the laser side. As noted above, I pulled the BCR HVPS and it was perfectly clean with a good ground.

With only a stable of 7500's and 7800's, I'm limited on compatible parts to swap with.

Unfortunately, no. There's a RAP for LPH PLL Lock Fault Multi, which kinda describes the behavior I have, although I don't have the 345-376 code. I've got to go back to that machine and check the 5V and 1.8V at J532. I'm suspecting those voltages are fine and I've got a bad MDM PWB. If that's the case, I'll just strip the remaining parts out of her for the next c80xx that comes through. Those MDM PWB's are running $350 used and I don't have any historical luck with swapping the 'smart' components in the Xerox machines.

This machine got replaced with a C8035 that's been working fine. I can't tell that client that I've got to pull parts from their working machine to see if it fixes the one they abandoned!
