    Freeflow DXP250 licence

    Hi
I am a Ricoh tech. and I am servicing on a Xerox DC250 for a good friend of mine.

Everything is pretty easy and straightforward regarding the machine hardware, but the RIP is asking for a new license string. The rip is a based on a SUN machine, Xerox DXP250

Is this license thing done only by Xerox, or is there any workaround ?
( The Xerox tech charges over a 200$ just for appear and smile )

    Best regards,

    BRR

    License string

You have to call Xerox directly to obtain that. They will require that you pay a license string fee which is usually about 7000.00 to renew for 1 year. Then you have to enter the string .

So if I don't find a workaround, ..... it would be cheaper to replace the DXP250 for a Fiery or a Creo, they don't add some extra fee later !

        License for DXP250

Determining HostID and DocuSP version on any DocuSP server:

Make sure that you are logged on as System Administrator.
        Password is administ

From the toolbar, choose System, Unix Terminal Window. Password if required is service!

        # hostid [enter] hostid will be displayed Write it down.

From the toolbar, choose Setup, Feature Licenses In the lower left corner of the License Manager screen you will see the DocuSP version number, such as 5.0 Write it down. Again, you must be logged in as System Administrator

Email the two pieces of information to JorgeXcalak@live.com

The DocuSP server offeres a lot of features that the Fiery and Creo do not. It's a preferred server and usually sells at a premium. I wouldn't give it up.
