The sys s/w formats and loads the program all in one sitting. But the s/w is proprietary and licensed to FX so we can't really obtain an installer CD unless u bought the server from xerox

If you mean the Xerox DC12, DC1250, DC1256 Fiery/server software you can actually ask EFI Fiery for it Directly, and the thing is they can't sell it to you because of their contract with Xerox so they will give it to you for free if you persist.
It's not the usual thing that they do.
One of my customers told me that they did this and I told another one of my customers about this and EFI did the same thing for them.
