    Adding a printer using vista,its asking for username/password ?

    Adding a printer using vista,its asking for username/password or when I click on it? The pc next to it(which is xp)doesnt ask.Also the Not sure what to do? Thanks James

    It sounds like your trying to add a shared printer. Is this correct? If so you'll need the make sure to include permissions for the user you are using to connect to the printer. How are you trying to install this printer?

      Thank you for the quick response.Iam not onsite right now but will check this part. I think that I saw one of the pcs(xp box) had it as a shared printer which is not needed.I can add aprinter to another(xp box) and get right through. Thanks Jules

        Use username as ( 11111 ) and a password as (x-admin )

          all the xp boxs can be added but it does show it being shared it is ghosted out how ever so thats pretty much it...
