hello learned guys,I have a big problem with my workcenter 7665.its displaying ESS NOT AVAILABLE.can some one please help??????

I have tryed to use the altboot but still not working giving error msgs of
cannot reset kernel and install grub(no utility)
thats when i try to install the dlm file

on finishing installtion it dispalys
grub loading.........error 15

could you please help on the way forward

did you tried to watch boot process with altboot?

Do you get any error message or controller come to ready?

yes i was watching the whole process and at start it was displaying

extracting dlm please be patient
gzip:stdin:not in gzip format
child died with signal 13

I assume that you tried to download controller firmware with altboot.

Do you get some error message during firmware upload?

now u r confusing me,im not farmilia with workcenter.i dont know if it was an ess or firmwire.....
No im apart from the error msgs in getting that i have mentioned before im not getting other msgs.
please assist

1. Do you have altboot for WC 7765 machine?

2. Did you connect PWS to controller with crossover cable and null modem cable?

3. Do you have firmware for WC 7655 machine and do you have Xerox PWS software?

pws,
altboot
crossover network cable
serial modem cable
dlm file.
please help me out concerning the firmware

for altboot procedure you need completle firmware not only dlm file.
dlm file is for network upgrade and can be used only when controller work.

hello learned friend i think i need the firmware as you had stated,after using altboot to extract the dlm the atlboot is now writting "insert boot media in the selected boot device and press any key"
please help on the way forward
