Power down machine and unplug the HDD (PL13.1 item #14). Now perform GP3, steps 1 and 2 only. Machine should fault out with a 116-330 (HDD fault because it's unplugged - M24/3535 only). Now PO-PO & hopefully you will see a Ready To Copy screen after Power up.

The M24 works without the HDD. That is not the problem, the hdd was broken, which we replaced. question is: does the M24 itself this format and install or should it be done on a Pc?

Run the HDD Diag ( ADJ 9.8). If the problem continues, replace the HDD ( PL 13.1).If the problem continues, replace the ESS PWB ( PL 13.1).

Do not install formatted HDD from any operating system, replace it straight away from package then do the GP3 Special Boot Mode HDD Initialization. Simultaneously press and hold 4, the Stop and the Power Save buttons on the Control panel while switching on the Power switch. Hold them down until the second circle on the screen starts to blink.

I bought a new hdd, but not at xerox. 2.5"/80gb. It is the same type so I had not expected that this gives any problems. If I do the procedure Nr.4-stop- power safe, the machine starts 2 times and after + / - 1 min it gives the same error. If I do this with the old HDD then it take 15min and I get the old error 102-372.

So I suspect that I will need a HDD at Xerox. is this correct?

If there is someone from belgium between, he may certainly contact me.

You can always buy new HDD from Xerox but they are very expensive. We replaced non-Xerox HDDs so many times but we did not encounter much problems. If same problem occurs even after replacing it you must have others problems. Try check the interface cable of HDD, ESS PWB, ESS NVMs, IIT/IOT cable for any defects.

As long as the hard drive is same there should be no problem with putting it in. You must have another issue than the hard drive itself. You will have to load software with altboot tool if you use non Xerox HDD though.

I have 2 HDD units, one equal that the original a Toshiba 20GB and other Samsung 160GB.
I format the hdd in low level and connect to the copier, press 4+stop+powersave and report the same error code 116-330.
With the hdd original connected reports error code 116-201 and this hdd in windows isn't run, is broken.
I deduce, the hdd is broken and another device or board are broken to.

Any idea to check anythink? thanks

install your hdd at running condition machine
I don't understand, Would you say to Connect the hdd unit to the machine later power on? Is dangerous

The copier doesn't run without hdd, reports the same error code 116-330.

what steps I can do to make it?
