M20i

I am troubleshooting an M20i. When making copies either off the glass or through the adf it leaves horizontal (inboard-outboard) lines. It does not do this with internal prints or print jobs. I upgraded the firmware and reseated the scanner connectors.

First thing to do is clean the main scanner glass and the small slit glass to the left of the main glass. It sounds like you've already isolated the issue to the scanner since internals print out fine. If cleaning the glass doesn't work you may want to see about testing with another scanner.
