Might be buying a 5000 AP - what should I know?

I might be buying a Doc 5000 AP machine.

What should I know ahead of time?

What questions should I ask XEROX when they come to do my site survey.

Any issues I should press them on ahead of taking the machine?

Anything I should get them to agree to as it pertains to customer expectations?

I mainly run coated stock - any issues there?

    Mostly 12x18 sheets - 12 point - coated stock.

    Thanks in advance,

    Rob

There Are Some Problems . .

You have the EDOC and tool on your PWS, so that's a start, but there are some issues with the laser laying down the print uniformly across the page. It's only noticeable when you run fine print business cards multiple up.

You may want to talk to Abel Mallo at 954 491 2679 at CopyRight in Ft Lauderdale. I believe this problem forced him to trade up to a 7000.

I personally wouldn't go directly to Xerox for anything.... there's plenty of used equipment available out there, sources for parts and toner, and independent technicians available. I know a very good one in Las Vegas who specializes in Xerox equipment. All of these options will save you money over sending a huge monthly payment to Mother X and allowing them to lock you in to a non-flexible, non-affordable maintenance agreement.
