    Xerox 420dc

Xerox 420dc Jams everytime at the diverter assembly after the fuser unit, I pulled the fuser unit and checked for broken gears etc, and it appears fine, in fact after putting it back in I got "1" page out of the machine normal.

but then right back to jamming, it does not appear to matter if the machine is trying to send to the finisher or to the top output bin, both jam.

the customer presented me with one peice they said "may" have fallen out of the machine which appears to be part of a broken white gear which i estimate would be about 1 to 1.5 inches across if i had the whole thing (i only have a segment with 3 teeth on it)

I looked everywhere related and don't see ANY broken gears...

I mucked around with the pinch rollers etc on the top output assembly but nothing I did seemed to make any real difference in the jam.

the fault log shows these codes...e4-2, e3-2 and h5-4.

I wondering if anyone has seen anything like this on one of these units, and might be able to point me in the right direction.

all thoughts and or tips, greatly appreciated.

It has been a while but I think this was a solenoid/main pwb issue. Xerox had us replace the whole upper exit assembly.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I think you should replace the exit assembly like Mr Spock said.

Thanks for the input guys, any idea on where i can get one? or a part number?
the one place I go for xerox parts is telling me this unit is not sold as a spare..and wants to either sell me just a set of exit rollers, or a pair of sensors.
