Hi Everyone,

I have a Workcentre 4150 here with many problems.
It has Scanning E-mail and Fax enabled.

The Scan to E-mail doesn't work properly.
After i change the settings here, the next time i restart the machine the settings are changed to default.

A widows test page takes up to 2 minutes to print.

I can't create a clone file, everytime when I try, I get an error that the file can not be created.

I'd like to replace the controller software and all the other settings, but I'm not sure if the systemsoft from the Xerox Document Management, Color Printers, Copiers, Business Consulting Services will do the trick, I tried this but it didn't solve the problem.

Is there a PWS available for this type of machine. and can I replace the harddrive?

It's a real bugger and I hope somebody can help me out...

HI, i think problem is with you HDD. upgrade firmware is solution. you can download latest version from xerox website. no need of any pws there also printer control utillities available on site. download and install on your computor. see the instruction file for the installaton.

I already tried to upgrade the firmware without any luck.
Do you think i need to replace the harddrive and then upgrade the firmware or won't this work?

do low level format hdd and upgrade firmware again......good luck

DO one thing remove your hard drive plug it woth your lap top and delete the files from spool folder and jobs folder or you can cut paste these file for backup or safe site.

then plug it again i hope your problem will be resolved. i dont it and its works.

You can pull the HDD and connect to laptop/PC with USB adapter and format the drive. Windows will not let you format the drive natively due to FAT32 size limitation. You can download a free program call SwissKnife that will do the format for you. I have done this several times for customers with 100% success..
